Lauren Sánchez (born December 19, 1969) is an American news anchor, entertainment reporter, and media personality. She can currently be seen on Good Day LA, and joined Extra in September 2009.

Career
Sánchez is an emmy-winning journalist and TV personality. She anchors the My13 News and That's So Hollywood on KTTV Fox-11 in Los Angeles. She is also the entertainment reporter for Fox-11's 10 p.m. news program and is a frequent guest host on Fox's morning show, Good Day L.A.
Sánchez began her career as a desk assistant at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. She has also held positions as an anchor/reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix and with the syndicated entertainment show, Extra. She then moved on to Fox Sports Net where she served as a correspondent for the sports magazine, Going Deep and an entertainment reporter for FSN's Best Damn Sports Show Period.
In 1999, after a nationwide search, Sánchez was one of two finalists to co-host ABC'sThe View with Barbara Walters. She subsequently re-joined KCOP-TV.
Sánchez was the original host of So You Think You Can Dance. She left the show after one season to have her second child.
Film appearances
Sánchez has appeared as a reporter in many films, including: The Longest Yard, Fantastic Four, The Day After Tomorrow, Akeelah and the Bee, Killer Movie and Fight Club. She also appears in the viral video campaign for The Dark Knight as Lydia Filanjeri, a reporter for Gotham Cable News.
Personal
Sánchez was born Wendy Lauren Sánchez in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from Del Norte High School. She is married to talent agent Patrick Whitesell in a star-studded $2 million wedding in September 2005 (guests included Whitesell's clients Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jessica Alba, and Hugh Jackman).1
Sanchez has two sons and one daughter: Nikko Gonzalez, born on February 12, 2001 from a relationship with Atlanta Falcons All Pro tight end, Tony Gonzalez; Evan Whitesell, born on June 22, 2006; and Ella Whitesell, born on January 15, 2008.2
On the morning of July 4, 2007, Sánchez announced on Good Day LA, while filling in for Jillian Reynolds, who was on maternity leave, that she was expecting her third child. Then, on the August 14, 2007 broadcast of Good Day LA, Sanchez revealed that she was having a girl to be named Eleanor Patricia (Ella) after Sánchez's mother and mother-in-law.3
