Kylie Bax (born 5 January 1975, pronounced /ˈkаɪliː/) is a New Zealand-born model and actress.12 She has appeared on international magazine covers, including Vogue and Marie Claire. Since 1999, Bax has appeared in several movies, including Get Over It (2001).

History

Bax grew up on her parents' horse-breeding farm in Thames, New Zealand.2 Having been a beauty queen, Bax was first discovered in a New Zealand shopping mall by an agent from modelling agency Clyne Model Management. After discovering her marketing abilities as a fashion model, she soon moved to New York to work as a model. Bax became Steven Meisel's protege. She went on to work with top photographers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon. Once discovered Bax became an international modeling success, signing with Women in New York, Marilyn in Paris, and Storm in London. She has appeared on numerous international magazine covers, including Vogue, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar & Mode Australia, Maxim, Vanity Fair, ELLE and Sports Illustrated. She has also appeared on more than twenty Vogue covers around the world. In 2000, Bax joined Estella Warren, Veronica Vařeková and Michelle Behennah in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has appeared in campaigns for international products such as Club Monaco, Anna Sui, Clinique, Ann Taylor, DKNY, Escada, Gianfranco Ferre, Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Sonia Rykiel, Versace, Moschino,Nars, Valentino.. She has walked down catwalks for high fashion houses such as Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, and Valentino, Glistening Examples, Gucci, Galliano, Donna Karan, Cynthis Rowley, Calvin Klein, Joop, Alexander McQueen, Phillip Treacy, Karl Lagerfeld, Chloe, Ralph Lauren, Prada, and Miu Miu. In 2009 she sued French men's magazine Max Magazine for using bare-breasted images of her on its wrapper, no photos were inside the publication.1 Her lawsuit cited that the "'sexualised nature of the photographs' was inconsistent with the image she sought to develop".1 The images were taken about six years prior, and she was not compensated for their use by Max Magazine and the photographer was assured they would not run without her consent.1

Bax's house was featured in a 2003 episode of the MTV television show, Cribs. The house is a large horse farm located in Lexington, Kentucky. She is part owner of Blandford Lodge horse stud.2 Bax is married-to Greek fashion photographer Spiros Poros and has two daughters, Lito and Dione Nefeli.2 Bax also has a stepson named Aris. They moved to Athens in 2009.2 The couple hope to launch a clothing line for children called "Moromoro" ("Babybaby" in Greek) in 2010.2

Filmography

Bax has had various roles in film, with appearances in 1999's Storm Catcher and The Big Tease. She also appeared in the 2000 comedy, We Married Margo, as well as Jill Rips that same year.

She then moved on to teen films, with a role as a Victoria's Secret supermodel in the romantic comedy Boys and Girls, along with fellow models Ines Rivero and Kristy Hinze. In 2001, Kylie and Carmen Electra appeared in Get Over It, starring Kirsten Dunst. Bax also appeared on an episode of MTV Cribs.
