Claudette Ortiz (born July 21, 1981 in Willingboro, New Jersey) is an American singer of Puerto Rican descent, most famous as the female in the R&B group City High although she has built somewhat of a name for herself as a solo artist.

Personal life

She was born to a Puerto Rican mother and father. Ryan Toby, former group mate, married Ortiz on October 14, 2004. They have 2 sons together. Ortiz's first son was born in 2003 with Toby and her second son with Toby was born in 2004. Her third daughter (not fathered by Toby) was born August 12, 2005.

Career

She was featured on Wyclef Jean's track "Dance Like This" on the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights soundtrack, which was later remade by Shakira (as "Hips Don't Lie") in 2006. Other artists she has worked with include Nas, Ja Rule and rapper Mase. Maxim ranked Ortiz as the 99th most beautiful woman in the world in 2002.1
