Group Members

Natalie Horler

Natalie Horler was born on September 23 1981. She is often presented as Cascada herself, and many are unaware that Cascada is in fact a band and not just an artist. When she was just 17, she worked for various DJs. She provided vocals for dance act 2 Vibez with their song Sometimes, which was released on October 8, 2004. Eventually, she met Yann Pfeiffer (stagename Yanou) and Manuel Reuter (stagename DJ Manian). Horler was born and lives in Bonn, in Germany. Horler's parents are English, thus she speaks fluent English with a British accent and states that she has enjoyed a 'very English upbringing'.

Manian

DJ Manian (aka Manuel Reuter) is a German producer, trance DJ, labelowner of Zooland Records. He works alongside fellow DJ Yanou to produce the music and create the sounds. Manians sound is distinct and he is often labelled as the 'King' of dance music. In many of Cascada's songs the Nexus synthesizer generator is used, as stated on the Nexus website. He has produced a number of singles under various pseudonyms, and maintains a number of different musical projects, including Tune Up! (with Yanou, now defunct), Bulldozzer, M.Y.C., Ampire, Liz Kay. Manian's songs often feature on the infamous Clubland compilation CDs.

Yanou

Yanou (aka Yann Peifer) is a German trance musician and producer. He collaborated on DJ Sammy's chart-breaking hit "Heaven" with vocalist Do. He produces music for Cascada alongside DJ Manian and Natalie Horler.

Music

Everytime We Touch (2004-2007)

Cascada experienced mainstream success in the United Kingdom and the United States almost a year after releasing their second American single, “Everytime We Touch”, which interpolates the chorus of a 1992 Maggie Reilly song of the same name.

In all, eight singles were released from the album, four of which have been released in the United Kingdom; 'Everytime We Touch', 'Truly Madly Deeply', 'Miracle' and 'A Neverending Dream'. Everytime We Touch soared to number one on release in various countries, including the US Dance Chart. It remained at No. 1 in Ireland for several weeks.

Everytime We Touch was the best selling dance song of 2006. Despite receiving negative reviews, Truly Madly Deeply (the follow up single) also became a huge success. The third release was Miracle, which became another No. 1 for the group in areas of Europe and received mainstream chart success in the UK.

Many early reviews of Cascada's debut single 'Everytime We Touch' branded them as a one hit wonder, however, they were soon proved incredibly wrong. Cascada became the 3rd best selling artist of 2007, only being beaten by global successes, Amy Winehouse and KT Tunstall.

Perfect Day (2007-2009)

Natalie Horler first announced that Cascada were working on their second album during a Japanese interview, which was posted on their blog on MySpace. The worldwide lead single, “What Hurts the Most”, was released in late 2007 and early 2008, along with its B-side, a cover of Wham!'s “Last Christmas”. On June 30, 2008, it was announced that the second single to be released in America will be “Faded” which appears only on the American version of Perfect Day. Also, “Because the Night” became available as a digital download on this date with the physical release being released on August 4, 2008.

In the UK, a Platinum edition of Perfect Day was said to be released on October 20, 2008, which features the American tracks plus a DVD with live performances from Clubland Live 2008, Natalie's favourite Cascada music videos, an exclusive interview with Natalie, a photo gallery and an acoustic performance of “Another You” in the studio with Yanou on the piano. It was featured on several websites, but since the release date, it has been listed as 'Out of Stock'. There was no further word about the album being released, and it was later cancelled.

In early January 2009, Clubland TV broadcasted clips from the Clubland Live Tour, with performances from Scooter, Ultrabeat, Darren Styles and N-Trance. The footage was later uploaded onto YouTube. It was suggested that the performances of Cascada were those which were supposed to be included on the Platinum Edition of Perfect Day.

On February 17, 2009, the song “Perfect Day” will be released as a CD Maxi Single (Itunes), in North America. Because The Night was not released in America and Canada, whilst “Faded” replaced the release there.

There were several rumours that “Runaway” would be released as a single, but unknown if it were to be global release or a partial country, because “Perfect Day” was only released in America and Canada.

Confirmation about their new album was later announced, so it was suggested that the release of “Runaway” was just a rumour.

Evacuate the Dancefloor (2009-present)

On April 10, 2008, Natalie Horler announced on her official blog that work on the third album would soon commence and that the album would be released in 2009. Jo Whiley announced on her Radio 1 show that Coldplay's Chris Martin will work with Cascada, but this was later confirmed false by Natalie herself.

Producer Yanou has confirmed that the new single and album will be released around June time and also stated there will be no cover versions on the third album.

The new album has been entitled “Evacuate the Dancefloor”, which is to be released on July 6 in the UK and Germany.

The lead single of the album is called “Evacuate the Dancefloor”, and was released on June 29 2009. Currently, the single is the 1st most downloaded from iTunes in the mid-week charts, leading over competition from Michael Jackson who's sales rose significantly after his death.

On Thursday 28th May, an album launch party was held in London, where Natalie performed the new singles "Breathless", "Draw The Line" and "Dangerous". Breathless and Dangerous have a typical hands-up "Cascada style", while Draw the Line is a ballad.

On Friday the 5th of June, Cascada relaunched their website with a new look for the new album.

Natalie will also make appearances in nightclubs across the globe in the next coming months. All appearances will help promote the release of the album Evacuate the Dancefloor.

Previews of the album began to appear on Youtube on the 23rd June. The album has a completely different feel to the previous two. Different basslines and new instrument sounds contrast to the traditional style of Cascada of which was the only styling used in previous songs. In a recent interview with Natalie, she stated that her favourite tracks from the album are "Fever" and "Draw the Line".
In a recent interview with Natalie, she was asked about the second single from the album. At the time, she stated that she had to keep things quiet, but there have been several confirmations that "Dangerous" will be the second single from the album. No actual confirmation has been given, and no release date has been announced for the single, if the confirmed rumours are true.

Television

In the autumn of 2006, Natalie made her first foray into television as the guest host of the viewer request show Back @ Ya on bpm:tv, a Toronto, Canada-based cable channel that broadcasts all across Canada and some parts of the United States. bpm:tv specializes in playing dance and electronica music videos. Also in 2006, she appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly to promote her album, Everytime We Touch.
She's also presented 'The Clubland Top 50' exclusively to the music channel 4Music and also presented the 'MTV Dance Top 50.
She has performed on countless television shows, mainly in Europe, one of which was promoting the UK version of the Perfect Day album on the UK breakfast show GMTV in December 2007, performing Last Christmas live. Horler then returned to GMTV in 2008 on 28 July, performing "Because the Night" live, and again on July 3, 2009 to perform Evacuate the Dancefloor, to promote the new album.
